About Emma
I started yoga in my mid-twenties. I loved how it made me feel. My body felt strong and balanced, my flexibility increased. I simply felt better. As I continued to practise, I was steered towards practising Ashtanga Yoga with Gingi Lee at his Sangam Studio in Battersea. I practised the Primary Series for 8 years with Gingi before leaving London and moving to the country. I really enjoyed Ashtanga Yoga. It deepened my understanding and love of yoga.
Since living in Wiltshire, I have continued to develop my yoga practice and have trained to become a teacher with Debby Wilkinson through the British Wheel of Yoga. The BWY teacher training equates to more than 500 hours and is comprehensive, ensuring all BWY teachers are safe and knowledgable. I enjoy teaching Hatha and Vinyasa Flow Yoga blending elements of Iyengar alignment with Vinyasa Flow and Ashtanga Yoga, teaching pranayama and relaxation techniques. Since qualifiying in 2011, I have continued by ongoing development as a teacher by undertaking workshops and trainings with international yoga teachers, including David Swenson, Jason Crandell, Bill Wood, Peter Blackaby and most recently Gary Carter.
I am also qualified as a teacher with the Menopause Institute in The Menopause Method. If you know someone who might be interested in a solution rather than a survival strategy for their menopause symptoms, please ask them to get in touch with me. Trials of the techniques taught within the course have shown an 80% reduction in symptoms associated with the menopause. These symptoms include difficulty in sleeping, forgetfulness, hot flashes, night sweats and irritability.
